R.4.D Set

R4D. This version of the R4D dates from 1965/67. The previous version introduced in 1962 was upgraded in 1965 when the R27 vista-dome coach was removed from the set and replaced with two R26 coaches. This was the last Moldex R159 based passenger set to contain Australian made rolling stock.

This is the 1964 version of the Moldex R4D set. As with other 1964 sets, the set components were packed in individual window boxes. This set contains two TransAustralia coaches, instead of the usual coach and vista-dome shown in the catalogue.

The track box is not original and may have been packed in a box with a curved window.
