Tri-ang Australian Sets

RS.34A Set

This is an unusual version of the RS34 set, containing a Moldex TransAustralia R159 loco and Moldex Super 4 track, with UK made Transcontinental coaches in a Rovex box.

Not visible in the photograph of the lid is the remains of a Myers price tag and a handwritten inscription to ‘David’ dated Christmas 1965.

The RS34 set was not listed in the 1965 Australian price list. It seems likely that the set is from a final batch of RS34 sets specially assembled by Moldex for Myers in 1965, using some local parts, as well as some Margate parts leftover when RS34 set production stopped in 1964.
