Note the distortion of the plastic between the two tracks. This is very common and is due to the heat produced in the mechanism's resistance wire used to operate the gates.

Recently purchased, back to the 
UK, from New Zealand. In mint condition, about 40 years old. Unusual to be in this type of box, opening at the end, as most of the ones I have seen are in lift off lid boxes.
